Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP - Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Contract Variations

Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP serial number 549939 - blue finish, checkered walnut grips, gun has been reblued at some point (as found) and lacks the U.S. PROPERTY mark on right side of the frame above the trigger area.  Punch-dot ordnance inspected on the upper left flat of the trigger guard is present.

Pistol was one of 320 sold to the United States Government and shipped to the Property Officer, Supply Division, Office of Strategic Services, Fowler Building, Rosslyn, Virginia on September 8, 1944.  Process on Colt Factory Order number 4420.

Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP serial number 558028 - blue finish, checkered walnut grips, marked U.S. PROPERTY on right side of the frame above the trigger area and punch-dot ordnance inspected on the upper left flat of the trigger guard.

Pistol was one of 900 sold to the United States Government and shipped to the Property Officer, Supply Division, Office of Strategic Services, Fowler Building, Rosslyn, Virginia on September 26, 1944.  Process on Colt Factory Order number 4420.

Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP serial number 558028 - right side.

Model M .32 ACP serial number 559739, shipped in a shipment of 320 pistols on September 8, 1944 to the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), Fowler Building, Rosslyn, Virginia and issued to Capt. Maurice M. LeBreton, U.S. Army, who served in the India, China, Burma Theater in WWII.  This pistol is accompanied by an unusual leather shoulder holster with a finger cut-through that allow the pistol to be fired from the holster.

Model M .32 serial number 560073 - Colt factory letter confirms shipment to the Office of Strategic Services, Fowler Building, Rosslyn, VA in 1944.

Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP sn 560290 - issued by the OSS to Army Major Eric Lindgren Bark in Sweden during WWII.  Included with this Colt is Major Lindgren Bark's passport and unmarked shoulder holster.
