Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP - Pre/Post-War Variations

Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP Serial Number 572003 Pre/Post-War example - While this Model M may resemble a military contract variation, it was actually shipped in 1946 as a commercial sale.  Note the lack of ordnance wheel behind the thumb safety.  Post-war variations of this model are seldom encountered.

Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP Serial Number 572122 Pre/Post-War example -  Serial Number 572122 was shipped to Joseph Lorch, Colt's Washington, D.C. agent in 1946.  This pistol came with the original bill of sale from Norm Strebe in 1947.  Like 572003 above, it also lacks the ordnance mark.

A post-war (ca. 1948) Colt prototype drawing containing many of the featured of the pre-war Model M.  This prototype also featured an exposed hammer, separate barrel bushing, magazine release button and appears to be double action.
